When cash deposit machines are down…

What do you feel? You ask me, of course I said frustrated and dissapointed. Didn’t expect cash deposit machines (CDM) of different banks will fail at the same time. The error message was either “out of service” or “this machine is not accepting cash deposit”. Oh Sunday! emm… normal maintanence not inside pre-planned schedule or too many cash banked in by customer on Sat. I think that the answet I will get from customer service officer (CSO).

I remember when I was young, out of 10 coin payphones (those orange in color one), 8 is out of order. Failing modes are missing handset, coin insertion hole stucked with foreign objects, only emergency call is available, deformed display screen, coin sensor not sensative (keep rejecting my 10 sen coin, I need to use 20 sen to make a call) and some are beyond your imagination.

I thought with the launching of telephone card phone, the above problem will be solved. Too optimistic, NO NO NO, again the problem remains. My magnetic phone card, always failed to slot in the phone.

10 years later, most banks bring in CDM for convenience of customer. Some bank even charged RM8 one year for ATM card. However, payphone episode repeats itself again. We shifted to handphone in replacement of payphone.

What we can shift when all CDMs are down? No choice, I can only choose to keep my notes inside wallet, or perhaps under pillow. I have to say no to RM8.

Google has infiltrated its way into basic part of today’s world” - Joel Achenbach, The Washington Post, February 22, 2004

Purchased from Popular book at RM39.84 (Selling price in Taiwan NT320). Reading… To understand more about the history and success of Google. Hopefully, book review later.

I guess one of the success recipe of Google is breaking Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Fifa 2005: Malaysia national team patch

Tonight: Variably cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. Low 76F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 60%.

Did nothing on 15 February. Google remains as one of my favourite site, I normally just type anything and press the button.

Entered fifa2005 plus malaysia. I found Fifa 2005 Malaysia Patch created by Zulkhairi, an active football game patch contributor to Soccergaming. He completed this patch by early February, I guess.

Take a look at his message posted in Soccer Gaming forum. You can approach him through this forum should you need any support.

You can download this patch at http://www.geocities.com/zul_x/fifa2005/maspatch2005.zip

Here are a few shots from Zulkhairi. Thanks Zulkhairi for this great patch!

Fighter in the Wind

Tonight: Mainly cloudy. Low 74F. Winds light and variable.

FITW

Four star for this real-life movie. Enjoyed very much the historical flashback on how determine is Choi to become the very best fighter. Snippets on his training in woods to gain incredible strength and later, defeat many martial arts challengers to become a master of martial arts, then founder of Kyokushin karate, definitely full of breath-taking action and heart.

Masterpiece of work in slow motion action and camera positioning, beautiful with fast and slow pace intersetting in between, but I would like to get more traditional korea drums or hitting rhythm accompied along the fighting scene.

You not going to miss this, right? Aside of Kung Fu Hustle…
