Babel Fish Translation

I was in the midst of trying to understand what is “Vertaling van liedjestekst“? Suspect this sentence is in dutch because the blog “Space van Julie” sounds very Netherlands to me.

I am lucky enough to find Babel Fish Translation by Altavista. Altavista used to be a popular search engine, almost on par with Yahoo! during 1995 - 98.

You can translate text or entire web sites with this tool and it offers translatation among 13 languages. English, French, Chinese, Dutch, Russian, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish

So the meaning of the sentence I mentioned is “Translation of song text” . Let see if there are any other powerful translation tools other than this one?

Firefox 2 URL/Address Bar issue with Tabbrowser preferences enabled

Mozilla just released their Firefox® 2 browser on 24 Oct.

However I encountered difficulty on the very first usage occasion after installation.

It was found that with Tabbrowser preferences enabled, one need to hit the GO button after choosing one of the url addresses from the drop-down.

Tabbrowser is one of the extension in the Firefox Add-ons, which enable user to personalize their browsing experience. The add-ons can be a tiny tweak or a whole new range of features to this open source browser.

I am screaming for help!
Hope the author of the Tabbrowser extension can bring a solution in the quickest time.

Using New Yahoo! Mail Beta

I was finally granted by Yahoo! to test their Beta upgrade of Yahoo! Mail, which is a sweeping redesign of the service’s look, feel and function.

Many thanks to the Yahoo! Mail team! Feel comfortable as I’m able to toggle back and forth between the old and beta versions.

Yahoo! Mail Beta

What are the changes?

1) Very MS-Outlook-styled, three-pane window with folders in the left vertical pane, headers top right, and a message preview pane below the headers.

2) The new Yahoo! Mail features a tabbed interface, like Firefox…

3) Snazzy drag-and-drop feature lets you move messages among folders, though I can’t use the “MOVE” button in the top right headers panel (The team claimed that this feature is coming very soon).

4) Retaining access to the Inbox while reading and writing mail, not like the old version.

5) RSS, this is something important nowadays.

Lowlight:

a) Can’t use it in my favourite browser, Opera.

Gmail & new Yahoo! Mail Beta, which one you prefer?

Yahoo ups mail storage to 1 Gig

Approaching first anniversary of Gmail, Yahoo Mail is increasing its storage capacity to 1GB, according to Daily Finance News. Yahoo Mail has gradually increased its capacity several times during the last year, from 4/6MB to 100MB, then 250MB. It will also expand the reach of its new testing version desktop software.

We shall see how two giants compete… I have to check my Yahoo mail first, is it 1GB?

Tonight: Variably cloudy with scattered thunderstorms. Low 74F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 60%.

Still feel frustrated about my truncated blog when I view it using IE, but not Opera or Mozilla. Not too sure whether it is due to the html coding of the template or browser configuration.

My blog not so best viewed with IE.
